Fun Songs To Teach Your Class

I love singing in class with my students. Whilst I am not the best singer, we still all have lots of fun being silly together anyway.

Teaching a song is an excellent use of transition time moving between activities or while you are waiting for the last students to move to the floor. It relaxes the class, everyone loosens up and you can have lots of fun with it. These songs I have suggested are particularly good for the younger years but don’t be afraid to use them with older primary as well. I am sure they will love them too.

1. I Love My White Shoes - Pete The Cat

2. Boom Chicka Boom - The Learning Station

3. Wonky Donkey

4. Mr Clicketty Cane - Peter Combe

5. Baby Shark

6. Tooty Ta

7. My name is Joe

8. Maggalina Haggalina

9. I Know An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Fly

10. Ten Fat Sausages

11. Happy As Larry – Peter Combe

Do you have a favourite? Is singing something you like to incorporate in your day at school or do you feel it is something that you just don’t have time for? How often do you get up and boogie with your class? I encourage you to give it a go.
