Pay North Sydney A Visit For The Views

After all the rain and being cooped up inside for too long I was desperate to get away so at the last minute I booked a room at the View Sydney for the night. Located in North Sydney; it definitely lives up to its name. It has the most incredible view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the city. I booked a Superior Queen Room which guarantees you a room on levels 10-14 which has a slightly better view of the harbour from a higher level. We were not disappointed. You could sit in your room if you choose for hours; mesmerized; just watching everything going on.

It is easy to reach. You have the North Sydney train station nearby or the option of free parking in North Sydney for the weekend which saves you a pretty dime at the Parking Station.

For shopping, you have Greenwood Plaza open on a Saturday morning, the markets are fun to visit on a Saturday at Kirribilli and North Sydney. Don’t believe anyone if they say everything is closed on Sundays. It is not true there are ample cafes and shops and things to do on a Sunday.

If you are up for a few walks make sure to check out Sub Base Platypus and grab a coffee at The Flying Bear by the water. Of course, you must take a stroll across the Harbour Bridge. It takes roughly 20 minutes to get across or less. Duck into The Rocks or Circular Quay or walk back again. For a 360 degree view of the Harbour; take the 200 stairs to the top of the Pylon Lookout. Or if you have some spare change book into the Harbour Bridge climb. We did it at Twilight and it was pretty magic.

You also have Luna Park nearby in Milsons Point for a bit of a thrill or take a walk along the water with views of the Opera House and check out Kirribilli House; the secondary official residence of the Prime Minister of Australia or Admiralty House; the iconic residence of the Governor-General.

Or the opposite way a bit further of a walk at Waverton you can visit the Coal Loader Centre for Sustainability or Balls Head Reserve with hiking paths, caves and views of the Bridge.

If quiet time is what you are after then check out Wendy Whiteley’s Secret Garden; a lush green rainforest offering private seating areas. It is a cute place to relax hidden away from the bustle of the city. Beware of the mosquitos though if you do go. Put on your repellent.

We splurged and went to dinner at the Green Moustache Rooftop Garden Restaurant and Bar only a ten-minute walk away and each mouthful was incredible or you have the option of Kirribilli Club which has the harbourside view as its drawcard plus great food.

The short time we were away was enough to invigorate and recharge our batteries. We loved the location we stayed and the hospitality we received. Now it’s time to start planning an escape for April.

What did you get up to in March? Did you get away anywhere special? We would love it if you joined the conversation and left a comment below.
