Photographs of Paris

There is so much to see and experience in Paris. If you intend on going, plan to have at least three days or more to get around and see everything by day and again by night. And be prepared to be exhausted. There is lots of walking involved, yet the metro is also easy to use to make your way around.

The obvious main attraction in Paris is the Eiffel Tower. See it by day, maybe have a picnic in the park. Pay a few euros to take the lift to the second floor for the view and then take the 704 stairs back down. Come back and revisit the Eiffel Tower by night with its lights on and later again on the hour when it sparkles brightly. It is honestly a massive tower. You won’t forget it.

Seeing the Arc De Triomphe is a novelty. Stay and watch the cars attempt the roundabout, maybe see an accident or two, then take the path under the road to pop out in the centre of the Arc. You can climb the Arc also and see the view over Paris and the famous Champs Elysees shopping street.

Museums worth adding to your itinerary include the National D’historie Naturelle, The Orsay Museum, and The Louvre to catch a sight of the famous Mona Lisa. Entry is not cheap, but hey, you only live once.

The Sorbonne is a famous university and a beautiful old building to visit, and Tuileries Garden is a popular place to walk around or sit for a few hours. It is lovely all year round, especially in Spring.

Cross one of the many bridges over the Seine River and check out what is left of Notre Dame Cathedral after the fire in 2019.

There is plenty of history to see in Paris. The Conciergerie prison was made famous by Marie Antoinette and has impressive architecture; also Gare de Nordis is an incredible railway station and building. Montmarte is a cute and artsy village to walk through or stop for a coffee. Try to tick off the Opera House, Jétais en Francais, and The Pantheon and you have seen it all.

It is not only attractions but its also the food that draws you to Paris. Make sure to try all the baguettes, the fruit, the cheese, the wine, the snails, and the French Onion Soup. You will never be disappointed by visiting Paris. It is worth a visit sometime in your lifetime.
