For the month of March, I would like to introduce you to our featured traveller Gavin.

Gavin hails from Toronto, in Central Canada. Gavin is a videographer and when he is not working he is busy travelling the world. Gavin has travelled to about thirty three countries. His last trip was to Central America and his next trip will probably be to Germany/Turkey sometime in the future.

1. Why do you travel?

To go to places that I have never been to.

2. Tell us your favourite: a place to visit, mode of transport and source to get travel info.

Place: Australia

Mode of transport: Planes, trains, 4x4 bike, ATV, etc…

Source for travel info: Mainly online and travel agent

3. What is your favourite travel memory?

The people and McDonald’s of each country

4. What's the most important thing you've learned while travelling?

People are pretty much the same everywhere, you get the nicest people and a**holes as well.

5. Who would you love to sit next to on your next flight?

Preferably nobody, the extra arm room is always nice!

6. What's your best money-saving tip to travel?

Book ahead and watch out for deals, get a good travel agent that can give you inside deals.

7. How do you deal with the post-holiday blues?

Book another trip, always need something to look forward to.

8. What's one thing you like to do in every place you visit?

Try out their coffee and McDonalds.

9. Travelling can leave a big environmental footprint, how do you minimise yours?

Don't litter!

10. Plan an around the world trip for us, stopping in one city only on each continent.

Quebec City, Montevideo, Barcelona, Durban, Taipei, Gold Coast and whatever capital Antarctica is in.

I met Gavin in Guatemala on my Central America Intrepid tour. We travelled as a group of thirteen and had lots of fun. I love that Australia is your favourite place to visit out of the whole world! Thanks Gavin for your tips.
