Make An Effort For The Sake Of Friendship

How many of your friends on your contacts list did you wish a ‘Happy Easter’ over the weekend? Are you one to wait for others to message first or do you not even think to send a message? It is not too late, go message someone, now.

Friendships do take effort. They take work. It is very easy to choose not to do anything, that way you won’t have to face rejection but it also easy to send a quick text or put a coffee offer out there and see what happens.

Do you make an effort with your friendships?

Life goes by quick, we get caught up in our own world and our own thing. We have our family or our partner and think that’s enough. Yet we can get so much more from life by keeping our friendships strong.

How do you keep your connection and make relationships with family and friends close? How do you cherish your friendships? Do you and your friends have any traditions? They can be varied, diverse or as creative as you like.

Why not try?

  • Sharing a meal together on a certain day each week e.g. Taco Tuesday, Margherita Mondays…

  • Host a board game night once a month

  • Play cards together

  • Participate as a team in the local trivia game at the pub

  • Have a WhatsApp Messenger group for regular and easy contact

  • Organise a cousin catch up twice a year

  • Compete and challenge each other at a Wii games night

  • Weekend Walk or Park Run together

  • Book an annual getaway together if possible

  • Plan something special in advance for Mothers Day, Fathers Day, birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, Easter…

Do you let your friends know you are grateful for their friendship? How do you treasure your relationships with family or friends? Do you have any friendship traditions? We would love it if you joined the conversation and left a comment below.
