Are You Like Me And Totally In Love With Meal Kits Delivered To Your Door?
If you are after quick and easy dinner options then this is the post for you. Options are what we have now. There are so many different companies offering meals delivered right to your front door these days. It is easy, quick, reliable and becoming ever so popular.
So the boxes show up at some mysterious point of the night. Who would not prefer the convenient dumping of food at your door when the other option is to trudge through the supermarket, dealing with decision fatigue over what to make for dinner?
Each company offers different recipes each week, usually healthy recipes, usually able to be prepared in 30 minutes or less, and usually at a reasonable price.
Your meal box options include;
EveryPlate - this is the one I love the most. Recipes make good portions with usually some leftover. Recipies have simple instructions to follow and easy to make. There is not too much involved, usually a one or two pan prep. You can only see what meals you can choose from once you sign up which I thought was a bit disappointing. Their meals don’t look the best in their photos but believe me they are so tasty. The prices are reasonable too.
Hello Fresh - this is a popular one for many families. I received the free box but found these meals take a bit longer to prep for. There are usually multiple steps so you need full concentration for this one. So many recipes to choose from though. They are always offering incentives to get you in like 40% off.
Dinnerly - these recipes specialise in only having six ingredients and are ready in 30 minutes or less. Twenty recipes to choose from each week.
Pepper Leaf - this company focuses on using fresher, free-range and more sustainable sources. They put their kits together using farms, delis and specialist cuisine wholesalers. They credit their recipes as taking no longer than 20 minutes to prepare.
Marley Spoon - I love these food boxes also. It is just a bit more expensive than the others. I first saw Marley Spoon on a cooking show one Sunday morning which gave us great inspiration for cooking. Their recipes have a few more components to cooking each meal so another one that requires your full concentration. You can choose from 27 recipes each week.
Soulara – claim to have the largest number of plant-based dishes in the Australian Meal Delivery industry. They prepare the meals for you so all you need to do is heat it up and enjoy. Try using the code 20OFF for $20 off.
ChefGood - these are chef-made meals so no prep needed on your behalf. You will often find these on shopa dockets. Try the code SHOP60 for $30 off your first box, $20 off the second box, and $10 off your third box
YouFoodz - offer breakfast, lunch and dinner, ready-made meals. I haven’t tried any of the ready-made meal boxes as I still prefer to cook my own. They do have a Winter Offer at the moment, nine meals for $59 with this discount code; WINTER-DEAL
Macros - again another heat and eat meals - no prep needed. Good for those with not much time for cooking each night or singles who don’t have the energy or in the mood to cook for just one.
Opting for the food boxes this year has taken the stress out of my nights. I know I have everything I need to prepare a delicious meal, no last-minute runs to the shop or crossing my fingers that it all works out as I supplement one thing for another. Plus I get shopping trolley anxiety anytime I need more than a basket full! So food boxes are a big win for my type of people.
I am not the best cook at the best of times yet I have learnt some new tricks in the kitchen and have these recipes forever now so I can always recreate them at any time. It is a plus for me.
If you are creative and have a bit of time for playing around to get the best deal you can shop around for discounts, sign up to a few companies like I have, skip a week with one company, put in your offer code with another and you can make it work for you, getting your meals at a more reasonable price, which makes dinner go down even better!
