Teaching Quotes

As a teacher I am always after motivation and positivity to keep things in perspective and to encourage me.

My walls around my desk area are covered in sayings. A few years ago I bought a extra large photo frame for my classroom and each week I would print an inspirational quote to insert and display with my Year 3/4 students.

Maybe it was more for me, however it was always a good discussion on Monday morning with my students about the meaning behind the quote. Below are some quotes I hope you can relate to…

If there is no struggle, there is no progress – Frederick Douglass

We never know which lives we influence, or when, or why - Stephen King

Seek opportunities to show you care. The smallest gestures often make the biggest difference - John Wooden

Ask yourself 'Do I feel the need to laminate?' Then teaching is for you - Gordon Korman

What all good teachers have in common, however, is that they set high standards for their students and do not settle for anything less - Marva Collins

Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm – Emerson

Give me a fish and I eat for a day. Teach me to fish and I eat for a lifetime – Chinese proverb

The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go - Dr Seuss
