Building Resilience In Your Students

This term for my Health lessons with Stage 3 we are focusing on ‘resilience’ - which is defined as having the ability to bounce back from adversity.

I find it particularly relevant to students in upper primary as at this age they are given greater decision making responsibility.

We are covering strategies to build resilience, discussing how to be more resilient and the ability to adapt as well as looking at examples of resilient people.

There are also apps to share with your class that will enhance students well being. Mindfulness and meditation is important for student’s health and well being and can be easily incorporated into your day. Apps include;

  • What’s Up? - a mental health app utilising some of the best CBT and ACT methods to help you cope with depression, anxiety, anger, and stress
