Outdoor Fast Paced Games That Even Big Kids Love
Primary students love to get out just as much as our infant students. They are never too big to have some fun.
Whether it is a game on the oval, basketball court or a short walk to the park; it gets them out of their seats and out of the classroom.
Fun games to play include;
rock, paper, scissors
fetch - students are in two lines. The teacher either kicks or throws a ball. The first two students must run to get it and bring it back. The game continues until everyone has had several turns. No need to keep points
rats/rabbits
dog and bone
dodgeball
continuous tag - like stuck in the mud
bull rush - build-ups. Students stand in a line on one end of the field. Three students are chosen to stand in the middle of the field. The teacher blows the whistle or says ‘bull rush’. Students then rush to the other end of the field trying to avoid the tippers in the middle. If they are tipped they join the others in the centre. Every time ‘bull rush’ is said, students must run. Play until one person left.
duck duck goose - play as a large group, with several classes and have five runners at a time. Students sit in a circle and five runners walk around the circle. Once they tap someone on the head they must both run as fast as they can around the circle and back to the persons spot. The person that was tipped must then try to tip the other erson before they sit down in their spot.
pass hoop around the circle
rock, bridge, tree
