School Holiday Ideas At Home

The Spring school holidays are just around the corner meaning your children will be busting to leave the confines of the classroom behind.

They are sure to be exhausted from routine and another intense term of learning so here are some great ideas to make being at home fun for everyone, particularly those on a budget.

Don’t forget to ask the kids as well so they feel they have input and ownership.

Get out the butcher paper, write up ten things they would like to do and start ticking it off

  • break the chalk out; use the concrete driveway to write, draw, and make games like hopscotch. Rain will simply wash it away so no cleaning involved

  • make slime

  • blow bubbles

  • make a boxcar and have a car rally at the local park

  • do some cooking or baking together

  • have a picnic outside

  • have a night with popcorn

  • learn some new tricks on the trampoline

  • pull out all the blankets and make a cubby or fort

  • dig out the jigsaw puzzles and its okay to take days to complete them

  • introduce card games like uno, snap, go fish, monopoly cards

  • teach them games such as chess

What activities do you have planned for this holiday break? We would love it if you joined the conversation and left a comment below.
