World Teachers' Day

Today in Australia we celebrate World Teachers Day recognising all the amazing effort teachers put in, not just today but every day. It is an important day in Education as we celebrate, appreciate and acknowledge the professionalism of our teachers and the impact they have on our students.

The theme for today is ‘Teachers as the heart of education recovery' is a very meaningful one in this present environment. Today recognises the tireless efforts of teachers who have kept lessons going and ensured minimal disruption to pupils' learning over the course of the pandemic.

How is your school celebrating its tireless teachers? Here are some ideas for your school;

• morning tea or lunch provided

• surprise thank you gift in pigeon holes

• setting the morning bell song to You Are The Reason

• acknowledging teachers in the school newsletter or Facebook page

• collect quotes from students or parents/carers to share throughout the week

• posting a photo in your sunglasses on Twitter or Facebook, either on your own or with your colleagues, using the tags #BrightFuture @aitsl
