July 2020 In Hindsight

July was an interesting month. I had school holidays in the middle of it which to the average person means taking things slower, but not in my case. I was filled with panic of ‘only two weeks to get things done’ so I went through waking up in the middle of the night with my to do list going over and over in my head, unable to get back to sleep. I rushed around from job to job, from visiting friends to the next friends, trying to jam pack it all in. Which in the end just made me feel worn out and overwhelmed. Slowing down is something I am not good at, which is one of the main reasons I have to take off during the school holidays overseas to force myself to stop.

But not yet confident to travel anywhere I have been staying home getting things done. We had another council clean up (our third one this year) and I cleared out the boys rooms and revamped the main bedroom. I made the decision it was time to buy a new car after nearly two years without one and bought one within one day of looking. It’s my dream car - Hyundai Veloster. I am in love with in. I read lots and caught up on my podcasts, emails, and gardening. We had the fire going most nights and loved going to sleep with the sound of the rain on the roof.
