June 2021 In Hindsight

June was all about staying warm and cosy and staying indoors. I was still getting over the cold I had last month. The change in the weather and the colder mornings really got me good. Hence, I have been mostly hibernating this month. I took a lead role in organising our school Box Car Rally which turned out spectacularly. It was so much fun and included every class racing and a scavenger hunt. We raised over $2700 to support children and youth living with kidney disease. It was a real feel-good day.

Let’s break June down…

What's new -

* Home improvements - been mostly online, getting quotes for house to be painted, curtains and blinds to be fitted. Finally decided on fittings, sink and vanity for the ensuite. Bought a new doormat for the front door and a rug for the walk-in wardrobe. Pruned the bushes and pulled the bindis from the front lawn. Planted more succulents. Cleaned out the front room.

* Trying to get out for a walk each day of the holidays

* My youngest niece turned one and she has just started crawling. I bought her a world map for her birthday

* I have hit my goal for the last two months of getting 500 readers to my blog. My most popular post is my e-tag one. You can read it here

* Finally stuck my e-tag to my front windscreen

* Received my National Parks pass. Now just to use it this year! Time to make some plans

* I haven’t watched a movie on a DVD for years. I’m talking years. I’m more of a reader. But for some reason, I was drawn to them when I went to the library this month and ended up borrowing three movies. I watched them on the nights my boyfriend did the night shift. Was different.

Looking for -

* new running shoes, comfy office chair, place to go away to for my July getaway

Sold -

* Three mulberry trees, Twelve Moccana glass jars, Christmas bunting, Teaching classroom posters

Started -

* posting the books I read on my @frommybookshelf Instagram account

Attempting to -

* listen to the radio. I recently rediscovered Triple J. How I have missed it. My teenage years were spent dedicated to Triple J; listening morning, noon and night and spending all of Australia Day each year holed up in my bedroom listening to the Hottest 100. Since I found Podcasts in 2012 I have played nothing except endless podcasts each day. As soon as I hop in the car I immediately put on a Podcast, during chores at home or even before bedtime I have them on. But I started to miss music, so randomly one day this month I put the radio in the car instead of a Podcast and I haven’t looked back. I am loving the current music they are playing and you can find most of them saved on my Spotify playlist from this month.
