The Moon Cycle in 2020
Tomorrow night is the first Full Moon of the year. I love looking up to the sky at this time and especially falling asleep with the moon beams lighting up the bedroom.
Other Full Moon dates to add to your diary are;
9 February, 10 March, 8 April, 7 May, 6 June, 5 July, 4 August, 2 September, 2 October, 1 November, 30 November and 30 December.
Two moons this year are Super Full Moons; 10 March and the 8 April. A Super Full Moon is when the moon is the closest to Earth and looks about 16% brighter than a usual Full Moon.
The Full Moon on the 2 September is a Micro Full Moon which means the moon is furthest from Earth.
And we also have a Blue Moon this year on the 30 November. A Blue Moon is when you have two full moons in one month.
Full Moons are a great time to create a vision board, imagine your goals coming true, and get organised. If you are a crystal owner, the night of the Full Moon is an excellent time to place your crystals outside on a white cloth for charging and cleansing. A full moon is also a great time to treat yourself to some self-care of a salt bath, a massage, and to get a haircut.
The dates for New Moons in Australia are 25 January, 24 February, 24 March, 23 April, 23 May, 21 June, 21 July, 19 August, 17 September, 17 October, 15 November, and 15 December.
A Micro New Moon will be on the 24 March, and there will be two Super New Moons at the end of the year on 17 October and 15 November.
New Moons are a great time to complete any projects, set your intentions, exfoliate and detox. Cleanse your space with sage, make a list of all things you are grateful for and clear anything no longer serving you.
Are you someone who has special rituals around the time of the Full or New Moons? What do you find works best for you? I would love it if you joined the conversation below…
