Anything Is Possible In India - Planning Notes for Northern India

Are you someone who loves to travel but has no time to plan or thoroughly look into anything before jetting off on the plane? You probably work full time or have a family that sucks all of your energy? Will fear not, I have done the work for you.

That is if you are considering a trip to India.

Below are the essentials you will need to know about travelling in India;

  • You must apply for a visa before leaving Australia.

  • Visit your doctor to get a prescription for malaria tablets. Take these three days before entering the country than for four weeks once back home. Take at the same time each day. They may make you feel unsettled so maybe have them with your evening meal so you don’t have a weird feeling during the day.

  • The currency in India is the rupee. $100 Australia dollars = 5000 rupee. So it’s easy enough to just divide their prices by 5, to get a rough idea of how much you are paying.

  • Pack your Indian travel adapter - its the one with two circles. The plug has 2 round prongs.

  • If you are a Citibank customer you will have no fees if you stick with the ATMS of Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, State Bank of India, Union Bank of India and Canada Bank

  • Pack padlocks for the overnight trains and airports so you can sleep easily without worrying someone will take off with your bag. You must experience an overnight train at least once whilst in India.

  • Wear your day bag on the front of you, you never know who may be going through your bag sneakingly.
