February 2023 In Hindsight

Feb schweb. Always goes fast. Somehow a couple of days less in the month makes a difference. It was a busy month and exhausting but a good one. I never even got my monthly hindsight blog post completed on time. I’ve settled back into work now and had some weekend explorations. If I look back in hindsight, I wouldn’t change anything.

Listening to -

* Simple Families The Podcast with Denaye Barahina

* The Terri Cole Show

* The Wine With Teacher Podcast

* The Lively Show

* How To Fail with Elizabeth Day

 Read -

* The Happiest Little Town by Barbara Hannay - where you are introduced to a different character in each chapter then we follow their lives and see how they intertwine. Simple good read

* Marriage Music by Kevin Leman - an old one that I have had on the shelf for while now. Despite having no plans to ever marry, I love learning all I can about relationships. Okay read, with a few good takeaways

Splurged on -

* nothing that I can think of

Watching -

* Wonder - great acting, touching storyline, relevant message

* Ted K - crazy one about a guy against technology and modern society

* Tracks - realised I had watched it before so just flicked through it

* Wide Open Sky - great documentary on the outback children’s choir

* The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent - came recommended and is a great example of why I mostly read and rarely watch anything. Cringe worthy.

* The Extraordinary - awesome film about guys running a non-profit organisation which trains underprivileged kids to work with autistic kids. Loved it

* What Would You Do? - went Gold Class at the movies with friends. Terrible movie but a nice treat

Went to -

* Fiddler for dinner a couple of times to use ‘buy one get one free’ vouchers

* Toukley with two sisters and mum. We took mum away for her 70th birthday. Stayed in the Penthouse at Lakes Resort where we could see Tuggerah Lake from one side and Budgewoi from the other. Great location

* Osso at Rouse Hill to celebrate my boyfriend getting a title at work - he is now officially the Business Plants & Assets Manager

Booked -

* tickets to the International Womens Day event at City Cave for next week

Cooked -

* Malaysian Prawn Curry,  Oyster Honey Chicken Stirfry, Zucchini Fritters, Caramel Chicken Stirfry, Haluomi and Sweet Potato Roast Salad, Fried Rice

* Apple Pie x 2- so delish

What's new -

* my brother is clearing out his garden so I scored some plants for my back garden

* moved some indoor plants around and they are all thriving. I’m impressed

* finally accepted watering dead plants will not bring them back to life

* house reno - took old cornice down from upstairs. Picked up the new cornice from North Ryde and paid a guy to install it. Looks so good now. Went flooring and lounge shopping - decided on hybrid flooring and a chaise lounge. No purchases just yet, but getting closer to booking in the flooring

* won tickets to the Do Ho Suh art series at the Museum of Contemporary Art. I couldn’t go, so gave the tickets to my Aunty and Uncle

 Looking for -

* pet-friendly places in the Eyre Peninsula for April

 Sold -

* Gameboy, mop bucket, motocross top, old wall phone, hens party games

Started -

* taking better care of my plants - been watering them every day! that’s a big thing for me, who tends to let things live independently
Attempting to -

* get my boyfriend motivated to do more on the house reno
