Save Or Splurge This Valentines Day

What’s on your agenda for Valentine’s Day?

Have you already bought your card, sourced your flowers and hidden the chocolates or maybe the 14th of February is just another day for you. That’s alright too.

If you are thinking of planning something special, what’s your style? Going over the top to impress or are you more the simple and sweet type?

Or maybe you are attuned to what your loved one’s love language is? Do they prefer words of affirmation, acts of service, quality time, receiving gifts or physical touch?

My list of things to decide on and prepare for this Valentine’s Day;

  • Spend the money and catch a movie at the cinema or stay at home, cuddle up and watch a romantic flick together - The Notebook, Romeo and Juliet, Casablanca, Dirty Dancing, A Star Is Born, Me Before You, Armageddon

  • Maybe make a reservation at a fancy restaurant - splurge and treat yourselves- get in early and book now or you can always cook your favourite meal at home. Some of my favourites to eat are Totti’s in Rozelle, Ozzo, Noi in Petersham, Hotel Palisade in Millers Point, The Fenwick in Balmain

  • Make a night of it and book a hotel or keep it simple and stay at home, set up the fairy lights or the candles and take a bath together. If your staying in the city consider View in North Sydney or the Sofitel in Darling Harbour

  • Why not book a couples massage or couples sauna and sweat it out together or go cheapo and pull out the baby oil and a drop sheet and have some fun at home

  • Are you spending your money on a bunch of flowers or cutting your own from the garden?

  • Lastly spend your dosh on buying a card expressing your feelings and gratitude for each other or instead, get your post it notes and hide love quotes around the house

How do you make your person feel special? Are you all over their love language? Are you keeping it simple this year or going all out? We would love it if you joined the conversation and left a comment below.
