January 2022 In Hindsight

COVID messed big time with my holiday plans. It meant postponing our trip to Norfolk Island and my January was mostly spent at home, hibernating, trying to avoid catching the virus. I have not read so much in my life. I was getting through a book every two days just about. We worked more on our home reno’s and I had plenty of time to write. I did go on two little work trips with my boyfriend out to Rylstone and Lake Mulwala where it was quiet and not many around.

What's new -

* Home improvements - Major developments as my boyfriend has two weeks off over January and he smashed goals. Ensuite flooring went down, walls plastered, waterproofing down, floor strip drains in, ready for tiling. Downstairs bathroom tiling finished. I edged all the paths and fence lines by hand and got two blisters in the process. Completed the annual prune of our four big trees, dropped branches at Mum and Dads. Fixed up my succulent garden. Bought two new rattan chairs for the kitchen area, really updated the area. My boyfriend changed three bulbs that were out. Our fridge decided to cark it late one afternoon so we had to go fridge shopping, nothing in stock so we are using my small fridge for the moment until we get one. Booked a council clean up for February

* finally picking passionfruit from our vine. Most exciting thing and so delicious too

* renewed Entertainment Book membership - saved a pretty penny last year so thought I would do it again

* our motion sensor rubbish bin broke. It is a couple of years old. My boyfriend attempted to fix it but couldn’t get it to work so I bought a new one to replace it. It is super handy

* spent some time mapping out my goals for the year, then narrowed it down to the next three months, then narrowed it further to the next month. 1st goal - work on a travel ebook
