Saturday Nights Just Aren't The Same In Lockdown

I don’t know about you, but my boyfriend and I always like to do something special together on a Saturday night, like going out for dinner, catching up with friends, seeing a movie, or going away for the night.

Now due to our local area being in lockdown, we are quite limited in what we can do. We still try to make this time special together at home, yet now it just involves a little creativity and imagination. Which isn’t a bad thing.

How do you make your time together at home with your partner special?

Have you tried any of these ideas;

  • cook a meal together or get your favourite takeout meal. Try out some different dessert recipes from Delicious

  • do a workout together or go for a night walk. Try this 10-minute Couple Challenge

  • take a bubble bath together - candles, bath salts and all or if you won’t fit in the bath together maybe treat each other to a foot spa or massage

  • play cards, a board game or do a jigsaw puzzle together - let your competitive side come out and just have some good old fashioned fun

  • play with your animals. Test their love - stand together with your pet then run in opposite directions and see who your pet runs after to see who they love the most

  • watch a movie together - remember to crack out the popcorn and a warm blanket to snuggle under. Make sure to sit on the same lounge together

  • have a go at some partner challenge’s like the ones online from Zach and Katelyn or Fullmhouse Try On Tuesdays

  • take an online class together like a painting one with Class Bento

  • give each other a haircut

  • set your tent up in the backyard and camp out. If you have a caravan; spend a night in there pretending you are away from home

  • have some fun testing each other with some online quizzes like How Well Does My Partner Know Me? or Song Association or Guess The Movie by Emoji or Guess The Dog Breed

  • shower and dress up for a special dinner by candlelight, with soft playing music and dim lights

  • set up a platter to eat by the fire - think crackers, cheese, nuts, dips, pretzels, fruits, chocolate

  • each look through your photos on your phones and choose some to create a photo book with

  • have a Zoom call with friends or family - catch up, share news, play a Kahoot!
