My 2021 Intentions & Resolutions

Are you one of those type of people who make a list of resolutions and then attempt to stick to them throughout the year? I am. That’s me. I’m a list person. A box checker. A goal chaser. A resolution maker.

My New Years Resolution in 2020 was to practice positive self-talk and improve my communication skills in order to be my true self and feel more fulfilled. It was essentially based on communication and becoming more extroverted to be able to speak up for myself and express my opinion.

Thankfully, being in a safe and secure relationship I was able to be more vulnerable and show my true self more so than I have. And he still accepts me. Our conversations over the year became more raw and truthful and expressing my thoughts and feelings rather than keeping them to myself, like I ordinarily do, really strengthened our relationship.

At school, I was able to carefully share my view on things and did it so that I did not offend or get mixed up in any dramas which is exactly what I avoid, and enjoy about being a causal teacher.

Over the year my writing style improved, and my writing flowed a lot easier. It took bravery to publish every day, particularly when sharing honest truths about myself.

For 2021 I want to concentrate on movement. Not just moving my body, but movement in the sense of going places, setting goals and making 2021 a year where shit happens. It has been a great start to the year with a significant impact made on our home renovations.  Hopefully, it’s only another six months and then we can enjoy our weekends again, doing anything except going to Bunnings.

I would love to see movement in my Laura The Explaura blog as I experiment with releasing more digital downloads like eBooks and printables. And my books I have been striving to write over the last few years. I want to make them a priority too and get them moving and out there.

Movement also in the sense of going places. Not sitting stagnant. Even though I can’t travel overseas like I so badly would, I can still travel locally. I am making the resolution to have one adventure a month and explore somewhere new. I am missing my photography, missing socializing with new people, missing pushing myself out of my comfort zone. And it’s time to do all that again.

Do you need some assistance with setting a vison for the year for yourself? I recently did the Lorraine Murphy One Year Vision Visualization Exercise which helps you create your ideal year ahead by imagining where you want to be at the end of the year. I found her way of breaking the year into categories really helpful.
