World Mental Health Month

For the month of October, we celebrate World Mental Health Month. This coincides with World Mental Health Day on October 10th, as well as World Mental Health Week from 9th - 16th October.

A whole month dedicated to our mental health and wellbeing reflects the importance of taking care of ourselves.

So how can we take better care of our minds?

  • Meditate every day - even if it is only for five minutes. That’s the start that will help you to keep trying it out each day. Read my blog post here for where to get started with meditation

  • Get a good nights sleep - set a bedtime each night for yourself and stick to it. Read my blog post here for setting yourself up for a good nights sleep

  • Exercise regularly - even if it is just for ten minutes a day or a walk around the block. It’s a start until you are ready to commit to more. Read my blog post here on tips to getting starting

  • Relax - give your mind a break. Take a float. Read more on my post here

  • Journal - by writing down what is on your mind, it releases the burden of carrying it. Read my blog post here for some journaling prompts

  • Do the inner work - heal your inner child. Read my blog post here on healing

  • Be mindful - actually look at the sky as the sun sets and appreciate it. Take your shoes off and ground yourself by walking on the grass barefoot. Read more in my blog post here
