Now Is The Time To Ditch Your Selfie Stick

How many times have you pulled out your selfie stick and it somehow got broken in your bag or worse, won’t connect to your Bluetooth no matter what you try?

Or the awkward run to get back into the frame after setting the timer on your phone?

Or have you been worried about handing your phone to a complete stranger requesting they take a photo and hoping they don’t run off with it?

Well, there are other photography options now to avoid all that stress.

Buying a drone - how amazing are the photos you have seen taken from a drone? They seriously have me in awe. There are spectacular scenes, landscapes and nature to be seen from above. Have you considered spending around the $1000 plus on one? It is on my wishlist! Best to do some research beforehand including the type, safety concerns, charge and flight time, and also which countries do not allow drones in.

Flytographer is one way, that is coming to the rescue. You can book a local photographer for just about anywhere in the world, who will take your photos for you. For those planning a proposal, or at a well-known landmark, or for those who would simply like to be included in the family photo rather than always being behind the camera, this is a great initiative. You can check them out on Instagram or book directly on their website and your photos will be emailed five days after.

Get a good old Go Pro - the Go Pro can be so much fun and a great investment. They are reasonably priced and can capture video as well as still photos. They are pocket size and come with all different attachments. Some models are even waterproof. Attach it to your bike, your surfboard, your chest, anywhere… and capture great photos as you adventure the world. Download their Quik app and it is so simple to turn your footage into videos to share. My brother has one and we love to ‘borrow’ it when we go away.
