Top Tips For Sourcing Travel Recommendations

Are you a, before you leave for a holiday planner? or instead prefer to go with the flow and see what you find while you are away?

I am abit of both. I like to have an outline of top attractions and find some great reviews for eating out however I also like to chat to the locals and see what they recommend.

For those who would like to check out the reviews, rating and recommendations you have;

  • Lonely Planet - full to the brim of goodies. A great place to start when planning a holiday

  • TripAdvisor - actually the world's largest travel platform. Search the hundreds of millions of traveller reviews and opinions. As well as compare low prices on hotels, flights, and cruises - this has always been my number one go to for recommendations and reviews.

  • Now the latest update of Google Maps has great recommendations with photos linked and as well customers reviews. You can find the closest groceries, takeout, restaurants, hotels, banks and pharmacies. If you are not on Google Maps, Sygic is very similar, with guides, and recommendations of hotels, tours and car rental.

  • Also check out Atlas Obscura – a definitive guidebook and friendly tour-guide to the world's most wondrous places. Travel tips, articles, strange facts and unique events. Make sure to check out the cool and unusual finds in Australia. How many have you been to?

  • Spotted By Locals - Has city guides with insider tips by locals in 81 cities so you can experience cities like the locals would. Check out their Instagram page to bookmark or save their recommendation's.
